Thread show sale, 30% off!

Filed under: Thread Show, trade shows, Uncategorized — admin @ 8:59 pm

The Seattle Thread show was a huge success and a great learning experience.  It was our first show so we had no idea what to expect.  What we learned is that there are many talented companies out there with some great clothes.  We also learned that the fashion community is supportive and ready to help and work together.

I also love to get in front of the customers.  As I have said before, the web is great and has been good to us but I get a great thrill when I see someone respond to one of our designs.

I always love to give you all a pic so here I am, tending the store.

 David at the Seattle Threadshow.

I was also inspired help those that could not make the show afford a Wringer Tee shirt at the same prices we listed at the show.  From now until January 1st, 2009 we are taking 30% off all our shirts.  So get started now shopping for the Holiday season or just get that one-of-a-kind shirt you have always wanted at a great price.

Great talking with you again.  Until next time, wring your neck.

Thread Show Seattle.

Filed under: Thread Show, trade shows — admin @ 11:27 pm

Mike and I are very excited!  We are attending our first trade show this Sunday at the Fisher Pavilion.  We are a little nervous because we have no idea what to expect.  We are using the same booth set up we used during the Fremont Fair but we have had to scale it back a bit, the booth is half the size.

What Thread Show lacks in booth space it makes up for in cool.  The show will have a bar, a d.j. spinning and a general party feel.  Wringer Tee will be part of the fun, bringing our classic tees to the show.

If you are in town this Sunday stop by.  If you mention this posting we will give you 20% off.  Check out  below to get the full details.

Chicago and Tina Turner.

Filed under: Wicked, Tina Turner, vacation, Chicago — admin @ 5:27 pm

So I was treated to a great get away to Chicago this past week.  It was my birthday and Mike took me to see Tina Turner and Wicked.  We had a great time.  Chicago has to be the cleanest city I have ever been in.

We landed on Wednesday and headed to the hotel.  We stayed at a great place on the river right across from the new Trump Tower. Once checked in, we set off to see the city (get a drink) and get some food (pizza).  So after a great dinner, we walked along the water through the parks and even ran into people Mike knew.

      Mike loves Chicago style pizza.

The second  d  ay we hit the Magnificent Mile for shopping and Wicked.  Mike and I had a nice Italian dinner and then off to the show.  The dinner was great and Wicked was fantastic.  It is an interesting, creative story built around a story we all know.  I was very impressed with the songs, the story and the sets.

The second day our friends Scott and Elizabeth showed up from North Carolina.  It was great to catch up after 3 plus years.  We grabbed a cup of coffee and took a cruise on the river.  It was a fantastic way to see the city and all the buildings.  Mike is a bit of a skyscraper nut so he was in heaven.

A very tall Sear's Tower.

We ended   the t  rip with the Tine Turner concert.  Wow!  I was blown away.  It was hands down the best concert I have ever been to.  Her energy was off the charts.  She danced, sang, shimmed, kick and rocked us through two hours of heaven.  She did all her greatest hits, starting with Steamy Windows and leaving us all spent after Proud Mary.  If you have the chance and the tickets are still available, go.

I love to travel.  It always seems to open my mind to new things, introduce me to new people and feed the designer in me.  I am as excited as you to see how this trip to Chicago will inspire me.  Until my next post, find something that inspires you and see what happens.

Wringer your neck,

Our first interview.

Filed under: about us — admin @ 9:36 pm

Hello everyone, I wanted to share our first interview with you. Wringer Tee was interviewed by the on-line fashion network, Dobizo Network. Dobizo is a great site with helpful articles about starting and growing a clothing line. It is also a great place to network with other designers with young clothing companies.

You can check out the article here

It is so exciting to see a buzz (maybe a hum) around Wringer Tee starting up.  Thank you Dobizo Network for the great opportunity.

Until next time,  wring your neck.

I am HUGE in Ghana.

Filed under: sales, business, about us — admin @ 11:02 pm

One of the things that I love about Wringer Tee being on the web is the fact that it has the ability to totally surprise me.  The web is fantastic!  I know that many of you know this already but I can tell you, as one who is directly feeling the effects of a connected world, it is amazing.

Over the past two weeks we have been selling a great many shirts to Ghana.  We have also had some customers in Norway.   We have also been growing a loyal customer base here in the States.  To know that people from around the world are interested in what Mike and I have to say, well it is a bit humbling.

I wanted to give all of your who have bought a shirt, checked out the site or sent it on to a friend, a great big thank you.   Keep watching in the months to come.  We are planning some interesting things that we hope will knock your socks off.

Until next time, wring your neck.

Inspiration from the most unusual place.

Filed under: inspiration, design — admin @ 11:08 pm

So, Alaska is BIG. Coming from Texas I thought I knew what big was…I had no idea. The vistas are huge, the waters are deep and the sky goes on forever.

Deep Blue

Mike and I hosted my family on an Alaskan cruise over the Fourth of July and we had a great time. It was good to see my family and to get away.

So why am I blogging about Alaska? T-shirts and design rule the day, right? Well I am posting about Alaska as a way to demonstrate how Mike and I get inspired to design. Inspiration can be found anywhere and the most fertile inspiration is usually found outside our normal day-to-day.

wild River

Yes, the images were amazing in Alaska but don’t expect mountains, rivers and moose on our shirts anytime soon. What I took away from Alaska are really themes, three main themes: disproportions, wild and temporary.

Now you may wonder why temporary was one of the themes that came out of the trip. This picture gives you an idea of why I felt everything was temporary.

Ice Float

This is a shot if one of the Fjords we traveled to get to a glacier. I don’t have any pictures of the glacier because so much ice had melted from it; it was unsafe to move the ship any further inward.

Anyway, back to my inspiration. Since I have returned I have been designing images that are way out of proportion. Temporary and collapse have also shown up in my work. Check the blog soon, I will be posting some of my rough drafts to get your feedback.

So to wrap this up, I encourage you to take a different path to school or work, maybe take the bus. When you do, really notice the things around you. You will be surprised at what your creative brain will put together.

Until next time, wring your neck

I love Seattle.

Filed under: sales, business, fair — admin @ 9:45 pm

So the fair was a huge success! Not only did we make our sales goal for the show, and then some, we met some really hip people and got a lot of great feedback on our shirts.

The top seller and most popular shirt by far was Paper Bomber. This shirt got a lot of smiles, laughs and complements. I guess everyone can relate to that Sunday night feeling that yes, work is the next day. People also liked SUBUS and Gnome Sweet Gnome.  And Ding also did very well.

We got to the fair early and because we had practiced setting up the booth it went up very quickly.

With the free time, three hours, I grabbed my camera and took some shots of our surroundings.

After that, we just chilled out in the booth.

All in all we had a fantastic time and we were able to connect with a lot of really cool people. We also had a treat, Alyssa, our fabulous model, stopped by for a chat. She is so sweet and looks unbelievable in the shirts.

The Fremont Fair is something we definitely will be doing again. We hope we have some new fans, made some new friends and could bring some smiles to the folks who stopped by. Thanks Seattle for being so supportive.

Until next time, wring your neck.
